You may ask, ā€œwhatā€˜s the big deal with identity, as long as the world does not seem to have any problem in deciphering my identity through the prism of my name, address, and job profile; why should I stress myself?ā€

Hang on, you might be right, but only partially; because youā€™re only witnessing that part of identity which seems obvious to you ā€” a part which you think makes sense to you.

Identity is a complex concept formed from various affiliations that make us each unique, such as religion, nationality, race, job, the people we admire, our hobbies, and preferences, et cetera.

However, to circumscribe the scope of this article, I would be limiting myself within the boundary of individual perspective only.

While flying back to my home after two days of the training program, I bumped into one of my schoolmates at the airport lounge. Two minutes into the conversation, and we were both engaged in measuring each otherā€™s success on the yardstick of socially accepted parameters.

But only till the time, I got to know about his life-threatening medical condition. We will be revisiting this episode in the latter part of the article.
