Envy is nothing but a feeling of inadequacy. It’s the fundamental nature of inadequacy that makes you feel jealous. If you are feeling adequate in your current life-situations, then there doesn't exist any space for jealousy. But how many of us can claim to be living a life of adequacy?

There exist a widespread belief that people driving a Lamborghini or people flying in private jet or people possessing multiple holiday homes are somehow blessed to have an extraordinary life – a life worth emulating. And in case that extraordinary life is lived by someone who is known to us, then it becomes impossible to resist the emotion of jealousy, where you seriously think, had you not been a victim of some random & unfair circumstances, nobody could have stopped you from living that extraordinary life.

There is a school of thought that doesn't shy away from advocating the presence of this emotional feeling in life. For them, an adequate amount of jealousy can prove to be a very powerful springboard to leapfrog in life. It is believed to act as dependable form of a motivator.

There is a very bright possibility that you might end up subscribing to this school of thought and succeed in getting an idea of what you want before you are confident enough to articulate it as your goal.
